All it would take for a comparison is agree on which one would be used by all those contributing in the comparison - and be aware that even then, you would be comparing not the turntables, but the complete turntable / record / tonearm / cartridge (including stylus & loading) / preamplifier / ADC chain. So why bother and get much worse results than just getting the right tool? Decent test records are readily available, and not so expensive (usually). Even for a rough level matching you can't get anything useful from two different records, they must be the same.
